Introduction
Ginza Koju is an old-established incense store founded in the Tensho Era (the late 16th century). Surprisingly, it was patronized by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. The store name derived from 'Kojuttoku,' doctrine of the incense ceremony existed in the Muromachi Period. There are a variety of Japanese incenses and utensils ranging from very traditional, authentic products to newly-designed products for modern lifestyles. Also, they offer a class of Kodo which is the art of appreciating aroma of incense.
