Creation of the Japanese character for 'bag'
A well-established bag store founded in 1874. The founder, Teizo Tanizawa, was the person who devised the Japanese character for 'bag'. The pioneering spirit, on which they strived for introducing bags in a period when neither the concept nor letter of bags even existed in Japan, is still alive in this store.
The 'Dulles Bag'
The bag that the American special envoy J.F. Dulles carried with him during his visit to Japan in 1951 made a deep impression on Japanese people at the time. The original 'Dulles Bag', inspired by his visit, is the store's trademark product.
